Kids Carnival at Hasbro
Liana had her first public vocal performance at HASBRO. She had a lot of fun singing, dancing, getting her face painted and seeing favorite characters like Strawberry Shortcake. Henry hung out in the stroller!
The Many Faces of Aurora
So the Nugget is getting into Princesses big time ...
She likes the Princess Aurora and now every doll she has is named Aurora.
Her American Girl baby doll, her new pink bunny, her new ballerina bear, and probably another dolly. By the way, she mimics everything that mama does with Henry. If mama feeds Henry, Liana feeds Aurora (if it is with a bottle she does a bottle, and if it is a boobie, Liana will lift her shirt and tell you she is nursing - can't make it up).

Leg raises
Liana was a pilots expert as a baby. Henry, not so much, but he worked his core hard trying to keep his feet from touching the grass.
The Recital
Liana had her first dance recital on Saturday, June 25th. She made me swell with pride as she performed her routine to "This Land is My Land". The auditorium was packed and as usual, she went about her business with no fear. Now, truth be told she and her 3 dancemates did their own thing but the audience got into the act by clapping along and laughing and cheering at these 4 girls who were full of life. The best part was at intermission when mama went to get the Nugget backstage. She got a running head start and screamed "daddy!" as she jumped into my arms.
She told me that night as I was helping her brush her teeth: "I love you dada". I asked her why and she said "because I'm your little girl". I'm whipped - need I say more?
Mama, Dada, Boon
Henry is starting to chat it up quite a bit. He does the "mamamamama" routine and can also be overheard saying "dadada". He has been a big fan of balloons and we are pretty sure he has been making the "b" sound when pointing to a balloon in the house. Kind of like the baby hippo saying "boon" in Sandra Boynton's "The Belly Button Book". There is strong debate over whether or not "shoe" or "balloon" was Liana's first word. Here's hoping he doesn't love shoes as much as she does!
Unstoppable
How can it be a party without balloons?
We were walking through the neighborhood recently and I saw a bouncy house in the distance. It seemed far enough away that the Nugget wouldn't see it - I was wrong. She asked why there was a bouncy house and I said it was probably for a party. She said no, it's probably just a bouncy house. When I said well, yes, but it's probably for a party. She replied, "well I don't see any balloons." Apparently, no balloons = no party.
Birthday Stuff - Part 2
Just showing some shots of the Nugget's 3rd birthday fun.
We did have a great party and then she got her own special day with mommy and daddy in Boston - the Aquarium, a run through the fountain in the Kennedy Greenway, ice cream and the carousel! We had so much fun - hopefully we can keep up the tradition (with both kids!)
Boobies
Laughing it up!
Henry will laugh at anything his sister does...even if it means getting whipped with a purple blankie.
