Okay, so I am a few days late since the Nugget's birthday is 5/31. We had a great party for her on 5/30 with friends, family and neighbors.
The Nugget got a chance to hit the bouncy house pre-party as it arrived even before nap time. She was so excited and had a blast jumping around with mama, daddy, auntie Julie and even Papa. She called us all in her her classic hand motion, and "C'mon!"
One of the sweetest and saddest moments of the day was after nap (very short nap!) when she came down the stairs in her dress and a cute bow in her hair. Mama told her to go downstairs and show her dress to everyone - she meant "everyone" as the few family members that were here because it was still early for guests to have arrived. I walked her down the stairs and she scrambled through the kitchen, looked around, looked outside and went over to the door and began to pout and cry. I asked her what was wrong and she said "no friends coming". It was so sad ... she thought because no one was here yet that she was getting the shaft.
That all changed when everyone eventually showed up and she got cake (curious george cake!) and more bouncy house and presents. She had more cake the next day ("green cake" which is what she requested) and got to open more presents. It is hard to believe she is now two and so grown up with and will soon be a big sister.
We are so blessed to have her in our lives and we look forward to many more birthdays to come!
